CIRHUS Fellowships to France
CIRHUS to offer visiting fellowships to France for NYU faculty and post-docs
CIRHUS Fellowships 2016-2017
Through CIRHUS, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) offers several fellowships for NYU faculty and post-docs wishing to spend up to three months in France for research purposes or academic cooperation, starting March 2016. These fellowships are intended to promote collaboration between NYU and CNRS researchers in the humanities and social sciences in the three research areas covered by CIRHUS.
The fellowships take the form of a monthly stipend paid as a CNRS salary for the duration of the visit in France and must therefore abide by French Labor law. The amount is commensurate with the seniority of the applicants, starting at approximately EUR 2,200 per month.
In order to apply, interested candidates are invited to express their interest by email (email@example.com) and schedule a meeting with the CIRHUS director prior to sending a formal application.
The formal application should include:
- a short description of the project and expected benefits of such a fellowship (2 pages max.)
- a curriculum vitae
- a letter of invitation from the Director of a CNRS-affiliated research center in France specifying the dates of the visit. (Please note: this document should be sent as a separate pdf file)
The application material should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15th, 2015.
Selected fellows will need to send the following documents to Valerie Dubois (email@example.com) at least two months prior to their desired start date:
- a copy of PhD diploma,
- a copy or letter(s) of employment (to attest seniority),- a copy of birth certificate and its certified translation in French
